Latest investment from Florida angel investor partnership follows recent 510(k)
clearance for the locally developed Sync AV II Temporary Pacing Catheter
MIAMI - New World Angels (NWA) announced its latest investment in Swift Sync, a Miami-based medical device company, following Swift Sync's July 2026 FDA 510(k) clearance for its Sync AV II Temporary Pacing Catheter. NWA has invested approximately $1.4 million in Swift Sync across multiple rounds, beginning with leading the company’s 2021 Series A. To date, Swift Sync has raised approximately $5 million.
NWA is a Florida-based angel investor syndicate that has funded and guided early-stage companies for more than two decades. Swift Sync is one of NWA’s portfolio companies and has developed the Sync AV II Temporary Pacing Catheter, an FDA-cleared device designed to provide temporary atrioventricular synchronous pacing. Before receiving FDA clearance, Swift Sync completed the 30-patient EASY II clinical study in Paraguay. Results from the study were published in the peer-reviewed journal Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology.
“Swift Sync was born and built in Florida, from the first prototype through FDA clearance. That path has taken years of work from a broad array of team members, including those at New World Angels,” said Dr. Christian Marin y Kall, co-founder and chief operating officer of Swift Sync. “As we take the next step towards market introduction, we're glad to continue to count New World Angels among our key partners.”
“Throughout our history with Swift Sync - including backing the company during multiple rounds of funding - this clearance is a milestone we've been working toward alongside Christian and the team,” said Steve O’Hara, chairman of NWA and co-chair of its Healthcare Ventures Group. “This latest investment from NWA reflects our support and confidence in what comes next for Swift Sync’s innovative technology.”
